Eight individuals were booked into the Bartow County Jail on Thursday after Bartow County 911 received a call from a Floyd County hospital regarding a report of possible child abuse.

A nurse informed authorities that a juvenile in their care had ingested methamphetamine, possibly in liquid form. The child’s mother, Maggie Mason, was present at the hospital. She allegedly told the nurse that she had found a “bubbler” containing methamphetamine in her bedroom at her parents’ home on Bunch Mountain Road near Adairsville. Maggie expressed concern about relocating the “bubbler,” fearing it might trigger her past drug addiction. She also mentioned having an eight-month-old baby with the father, Aaron Collum, who had left the residence.

Just two hours before the hospital report, Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services had responded to the residence for an initial medical call concerning a one-year-old who was potentially having a seizure. The nurse reported that they had to transport the child to Scottish Rite Hospital. As of now, there is no information regarding the child’s condition.

Law enforcement arrested the following individuals:
