Man accused of attempting to meet a minor for sex

A South Rome man was arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, and use of a computer or electronic device to entice a child.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

31-year-old Kuamaine Deon Farrell made contact online with someone he believed to be under 16 years old and engaged in graphic conversations.

He then drove to an undisclosed location in Floyd County to meet the person for a sex act.

Felon accused of having firearms

A 45-year-old Rome man is facing a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following his arrest on Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

During the execution of a search warrant on Blacks Bluff Road, a .308 rifle was found in a room along with Corey Houston Barner’s ID and other belongings.

A pistol was also located.

Traffic stop leads to meth arrest

A traffic stop on Highway 411 at Biddy Road on Wednesday ended with the arrest of a 63-year old Coosa man on a meth possession charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Edward Stephen Thompson was found with suspected methamphetamine after he was stopped for speeding.

He is also charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Man charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

A West Rome man is facing drugs and weapons charges following a traffic stop on Maple at East 18th Street on Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

28-year-old Tonio Durmar Adkins was found with suspected marijuana packaged for resale, a handgun, and digital scales.

He is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drug-related objects, and a window tint violation.
