The Bartow County Planning Commission is recommending approval of a rezoning request for a data center on Taff Road south of Highway 113 in the Stilesboro area.

The applicant is seeking to rezone the 867 acres for what is known as Project Bunkhouse, which would be constructed in three phases over 6-10 years.

According to the applicant, the development would add more than $50 million in tax revenue at its peak.

The recommendation to approve now goes to Bartow County Commissioner Steve Taylor, who will have the final say.

He will conduct a public hearing on June 4. Just last month, the planning commission voted to recommend denial of a data center project off of Barnsley Gardens Road.
