Starting this weekend, bicyclists will ride across the State of Georgia, with the event rolling into Rome on Saturday.
Big BRAG, or the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia, is a week-long event with cyclists averaging about 55 miles per day.
As part of BRAG, a special event will be held on the Town Green, according to Kristi Kent with the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism.
“They will be coming from Cartersville into Rome and spending the night,” she said. “They have some live entertainment that will be taking place at the Forum, right outside at the Town Green, that we want the public to know about. That’s a public space, so whenever there is an event at the Town Green, the public is welcome.”
The music will be provided by Francisco Vidal.
“He’s an awesome entertainer, and he is going to be performing a concert right there from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on Town Green, and that is free,” Kent said.
From Rome, the ride goes to Cartersville, Jasper, Dawsonville, Clarkesville, and Toccoa before wrapping up on June 7 in Hartwell.
