Rome-Floyd County Firefighters responded to a hazmat leak call at around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Division Chief Jamie Stone, a container inside Lewis Chemical on Lavender Drive was leaking, and employees moved it outside the building.

Firefighters shut off the valve once they arrived on the scene.

Stone classified it as a “small leak” and there were no injuries or evacuations.
