Report: Man approached another man with a machete

A Silver Creek man was arrested Wednesday night following an incident at his Pleasant Valley Road home.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

36-year-old Samuel Lance Adams approached a man with a machete or large knife, placing the victim in fear for his safety.

Adams is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.

Man accused of fleeing from police, damaging patrol vehicle

An East Rome man is facing multiple charges, including hit and run, fleeing or attempting to elude, interference with government property, and criminal damage to property, following his arrest in North Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

19-year-old Ronoldo Maurice Hodges Jr. was in a stolen vehicle and fled from police at more than 120 miles per hour in the area of Calhoun Road and the connector.

He then bailed out of the vehicle, which kept rolling and struck a patrol car.

An occupant of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Jarvis Darrelle Adams Jr. of Rome, also fled into a wooded area off of Atteiram Drive.

Hodges is additionally charged with theft by receiving stolen property, running a red light, speeding, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, driving out of license class, and passing in a no-passing zone.

Adams is charged with theft by receiving and misdemeanor obstruction.

Prison inmate facing a felony charge

An inmate at the Floyd County Prison is facing charges of possession of items prohibited for inmates.

According to an arrest warrant:

30-year-old Muandarious Gartae Hall of Greenville, Georgia conspired through recorded phone calls with a civilian to have contraband delivered to a trash can near the playground at Riverview Park.

The contraband, intended for smuggling into the prison, included a pound of pipe tobacco, ten packs of rolling papers, and five sheets of paper soaked in an unknown substance.

Investigators intercepted the items before they could be smuggled into the facility.
