WRGA News Staff Reports –

A fatal accident shut down part of I-75 South near the GA-92 exit in the Bartow County-Acworth area Wednesday evening.
According to information provided by the Georgia State Patrol, troopers were called to the scene just before 7 PM near mile marker 278.
Investigators say a gray Mazda 3 was traveling in the right lane when it hit an aluminum trailer ramp that was lying in the road.
Moments later, a blue Peterbilt tractor-trailer also struck the ramp, which caused a fuel leak. The truck driver pulled over to the shoulder to check the damage.
Shortly after, a black Ford Taurus SUV veered off the road and slammed into the back of the trailer attached to the parked semi.
Due to the fuel spill, a TRIP (Towing and Recovery Incentive Program) response was activated to help clear the scene.
The driver of the SUV died from their injuries at the scene.
