- A Rome woman has been arrested on multiple charges following an incident involving a utility worker and a Floyd County Police officer. According to Floyd County Jail records, Robin Evette Easterling allegedly sprayed a Comcast employee with a water hose while yelling racial slurs. When officers arrived, Easterling reportedly used similar language toward one of them before retreating into her home and closing the door in an attempt to avoid arrest. Police say she resisted as they attempted to take her into custody, leaving an officer with visible scratches. Easterling was later taken to a hospital, where she allegedly continued using racial slurs and aggressive language toward both officers and medical staff. She is charged with felony obstruction of an officer, simple battery against a police officer, and two counts of disorderly conduct.
- A Rome woman has been arrested on charges related to child cruelty and evidence tampering following an incident at her home on Dodd Boulevard. According to Floyd County Jail records and arrest warrants, Kilene Lynn Boatner was taken into custody Sunday after allegedly causing a child under the age of 18 cruel or excessive physical or mental pain. Rome Police say Boatner left a controlled substance—identified as methamphetamine—in an area accessible to the child, who ingested it and suffered a medical emergency as a result. Police also allege that Boatner attempted to flush a small baggie containing suspected meth down the toilet in an effort to prevent its discovery. She is being charged with second-degree cruelty to children and felony tampering with evidence.
- A welfare check at a Rome Waffle House led to a drug arrest Monday morning. According to Floyd County Jail records, Andrea Kay Pritchett was arrested after officers responded to a welfare check at the Waffle House located at 2903 Martha Berry Highway, where she was found asleep in her vehicle. Police reports state that Pritchett consented to a search of her car, during which officers discovered a small bag of methamphetamine inside her wallet. She admitted the substance was meth and claimed ownership. Pritchett is being charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.
- A Rome man was taken into custody Monday after Rome police stated that he was found trespassing at a location on Shorter Industrial Boulevard. According to Floyd County Jail records, Michael Anthony Moss Jr. was arrested at 15 Shorter Industrial Blvd, where officers discovered he had an active warrant out of St. Lucie County and Fort Pierce, Florida. Moss is being charged with criminal trespass and fugitive from justice.
