Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Democratic runoff in Georgia’s Public Service Commission special primary.

Peter Hubbard and Keisha Sean Waites compete for the chance to face Republican Fitz Johnson in November.

Locally, voting will be at the Rome Floyd County Library. Early turnout was low, with just 245 voters in Floyd County, matching the state average.

Georgia law allows single precincts for runoffs with low turnout.

All registered voters except those who voted Republican in June may participate.

Two PSC races will appear on the November ballot. The special election follows legal challenges to the statewide voting system, which a federal court upheld.
