Report: Man endangered police officer with exposed syringe
A 60-year-old Rome man is facing charges after a Floyd County Police Officer was stuck by a used syringe.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Alzie Ladell Tolbert failed to notify the officer that he had an exposed needle before being searched, placing the officer in danger of contracting an infectious disease.
Tolbert had been stopped on North Avery Road at Albert Avenue for driving without a current license plate and driving with a suspended or revoked license when the incident occurred.
He is additionally charged with assault by an infected person on a police officer and reckless conduct.
Woman charged with aggravated stalking, terroristic threats and acts
An Armuchee woman arrested on July 24 for aggravated stalking is facing an additional aggravated stalking charge, plus a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats and acts.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
On July 23, 18-year-old Shay Renea Williamson contacted the victim in violation of a temporary protective order by placing an online food order with the restaurant where the victim works.
She then requested that the victim be the delivery driver.
Williamson also sent the victim a threatening text message.
Two charged with felony shoplifting
Two Cave Spring residents were arrested at the West Rome Walmart on Monday and charged with felony theft by shoplifting.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
21-year-old Zander Robin Grogan and 18-year-old Jordynn Dyain Hughes concealed $710.98 in merchandise inside a backpack.
