The Floyd County Police Department would like to wish K-9 Major Lex a happy retirement.

Lex served the Department from 2018 to 2025.  

In his time with the police department, he had 440 deployments and 42 apprehensions. He recovered over 5 million dollars in narcotics (including methamphetamine, marijuana, THC, heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, mushrooms, and MDMA).

During his career, he was called upon to assist numerous other law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Marshall’s Office, DEA, F.B.I., Rome/Floyd Metro Drug Task Force, Department of Natural Resources, Georgia State Patrol, Chattooga County S.O., Polk County P.D., Polk County S.O., Rockmart P.D., Cedartown P.D., Bartow County S.O., Gordon County S.O., Calhoun P.D., Floyd County Board of Education, Rome/Floyd S.W.A.T., Rome P.D., and Floyd County S.O.
