Man charged with party to the crime of burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and public indecency

A West Rome man has been charged in connection with a burglary on Burnett Ferry Road that occurred on May 4.

According to an arrest warrant:

42-year-old Shelton Tremaine Harris and another man entered the victim’s garage and loaded a generator and a weed eater with an extension cord onto a pickup truck.

They were stopped just three houses down, but were let go because the officer did not know a burglary had just occurred.

Harris is charged with party to a crime of burglary.

He is also charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug-related objects.

According to jail records:

Harris was found with hydrocodone pills and a glass pipe after police responded to a call about a suspicious person walking through a yard on Burnett Ferry Road on Friday.

Once at the jail, Harris exposed himself to an officer and refused to follow commands, resulting in additional charges of public indecency and obstruction.

Woman arrested following traffic stop on Shorter Avenue

A Cartersville woman was arrested on Shorter Avenue Friday evening on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 38-year-old Mandy Lee Fowler was stopped for a tail light violation.

She was then found with methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, clonazepam pills, and a glass pipe.

Fowler is additionally charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of drugs not in the original container.

Report: Man found with marijuana, AR-15 during traffic stop

A Lithia Springs man was arrested on Georgia Loop One following a traffic stop by Floyd County Police on Friday.

According to Floyd County jail records:

21-year-old David Rosalio Arzola was stopped for traveling 77 mph in a 60 mph zone.

He admitted to having marijuana and an AR-15 rifle in the vehicle.

A digital scale and grinders were also located.

Arzola is charged with felony possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drug-related objects, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Man charged with meth possession

A West Rome man is facing a methamphetamine possession charge following his arrest at Woodbine Avenue and Watson Street on Friday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Drake Montego Arnold was found with suspected meth during a traffic stop.

Arnold is also charged with a probation violation and was given a warning for a brake light violation.

Inmate accused of damaging cell

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing a felony count of interference with government property.

According to jail records:

38-year-old Robert Avery Garrett broke off a metal food flap from his cell door.

Garrett has been in jail since February after being arrested for allegedly having a machete while on the property of Pepperell High School and cutting down multiple decorative trees at Gilbreath Park off Garden Avenue.

Man charged with meth trafficking

A second man has now been charged with trafficking methamphetamine following a traffic stop on Shorter Avenue last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Jonathan Mark Stephens of Silver Creek, along with 32-year-old John Cody Leon Hernandez of West Rome, attempted to destroy meth by dissolving it in a liquid.

Both the crystal-like pieces and the liquid were weighed and came in at 211 grams, which is enough to be considered trafficking.
