The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will hold the last two public hearings before they set the millage rates on Tuesday.
A public hearing will be held at 8 a.m. regarding the millage rate for County M&O, Fire, and Solid Waste.
Another public hearing will be held during the commission’s regular meeting at 6 p.m.
Both hearings will be held at the County Administration building located at 12 East 4th Avenue.
The tentative rate of 9.500 mills is an increase of 0.546 mills.
Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.954 mills.
The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $71, and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $53.
