Man charged in reported weekend assault

A 21-year-old West Rome man is accused of pistol-whipping another person at his Cherry Street home on Saturday.

According to an arrest warrant:

Kevin Jason Lopez-Gomez struck the victim in the head with the weapon several times.

Lopez-Gomez is charged with aggravated assault.

Woman accused of assaulting a homeless woman

A Rome woman was arrested on Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and battery.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Aaliaya Denai Jean Jones threw a water bottle at a homeless woman at the Rome Community Kitchen on Calhoun Avenue.

She also pushed a counter toward the victim, who sustained a bloody injury to her leg.

Man allegedly assaulted, threatened woman

A Lindale man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant:

52-year-old Jimmy Lee Payne grabbed a woman by the neck, cutting off her air and causing her to lose consciousness.

He also hit the victim in the eye and the back of the head, threatening to kill her if she told the police.

Payne was not supposed to have contact with the victim as part of a conditional bond.

He is additionally charged with terroristic threats and acts, battery, and violation of bond.

Man accused of breaking a woman’s finger

An Aragon man has been charged with aggravated battery in connection with an incident on February 10 at a location on Three Mile Road.

According to the arrest warrant:

25-year-old Seven Andrew Richards forcibly opened a woman’s car door, breaking her finger.

He also slapped the victim, leaving bruising around her left eye.

Richards is additionally charged with a misdemeanor count of battery.

Man accused of breaking into camper

A 52-year-old Rome man was arrested on East Hermitage Road on Tuesday on a 1st-degree burglary charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Anthony Richard Ponto went onto the victim’s property, where he removed a window from a camper.

He then crawled through the window and took an antique cedar chest that contained Franklin Mint Heritage Indian plates.

He also took a set of keys from the camper, used to unlock the doors of the camper itself.

Ponto is additionally charged with a felony probation violation.

Report: Woman found with firearms during probation check

A Cave Spring woman is facing a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

45-year-old Samantha Ann Harvey was found with guns during a probation search at her Morgan Dairy Road home.

Man charged with meth possession

A Rome man was arrested Tuesday on Turner McCall Boulevard on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

47-year-old Michael Dewayne Green was found with a small bag containing methamphetamine and a glass smoking device containing residue.

He is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.
