Man charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment
A Lindale man is facing a felony aggravated assault charge following a domestic altercation at his Avenue D residence.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
40-year-old John Eric McArthur Long armed himself with a bar stool and grabbed the victim, preventing her from moving freely.
He also pushed the victim to the floor and made statements in front of three people, threatening to kill them.
Long is additionally charged with terroristic threats and acts, false imprisonment, and battery.
Woman charged in conspiracy to sell drugs
A Lindale woman has been arrested on felony warrants charging her with conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and tampering with evidence.
According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:
22-year-old Mariah Diane Thorp conspired with Eric Dennis McConnell to sell illegal narcotics.
The conversations between Thorp, McConnell, and the other individual were recorded over the jail’s phone system.
Thorp also hid a firearm from authorities to prevent additional charges for McConnell, who is a convicted felon.
Man charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle
A 33-year-old Lindale man is accused of stealing a motor vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Antonio Dwone Brown refused to return the vehicle to the owner and then blocked her phone number to prevent her from contacting him.
Brown is charged with felony theft by taking.
