A new sporting goods option has arrived in Rome. Academy Sports + Outdoors is celebrating the grand opening of its latest store by donating $5,000 back into the community.
As part of the opening, twenty local kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest Georgia were given the chance to shop the store ahead of time with Academy gift cards, picking up new apparel, shoes, and equipment to support the program.
The Rome store is part of Academy’s ongoing expansion. Founded in 1938 in Texas, the company has grown to more than 300 stores across 21 states, offering outdoor gear, sports equipment, footwear, and apparel.
The opening also comes with a number of limited-time promotional deals, including 50% off Magellan Outdoors apparel, 25% off all shoes and socks, and 25% off rods, reels, and combos.
