Rome City Manager Sammy Rich has been recognized by the Georgia City-County Management Association (GCCMA) with the Pillar of Professional Excellence Award.
The award is presented to leaders who have advanced professional local government management, demonstrated a commitment to continuous growth, mentored future leaders, encouraged innovation, actively contributed to GCCMA, and upheld the highest ethical standards.
Rich has served as Rome’s City Manager since 2013 and has been with the city in various roles for more than two decades.
City officials described his leadership as “a true asset to the City of Rome” and encouraged the community to join in celebrating his achievement.
The honor places Rich among a select group of city and county managers recognized statewide for their contributions to effective local government.
