Man charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment, and intimidation of a disabled person

A 32-year-old Rome man is accused of committing an act of sexual battery against a disabled person at his Chateau Drive apartment on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joe Ben Mullinix III forced the victim onto a bed, where she could not leave, and then made unwanted sexual contact with her.

Mullinix is charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment, and exploitation or intimidation of a disabled adult.

Man charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats

A 63-year-old West Rome man is accused of assaulting and threatening another man on Calhoun Avenue over the weekend. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

Wayne Gamble Parket grabbed the victim by the throat and then threatened to shoot him. 

Parket is charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts. 

Man facing several charges following weekend incidents

A West Rome man was arrested on Sunday after he reportedly walked in the roadway while intoxicated and was almost hit by a police patrol vehicle near his Chief Vann Drive residence.

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

27-year-old Christopher Weldon Vulliet then refused to stop for police and had to be tackled in order to be detained.

He also punched his roommate in the face, giving the man a black eye, and grabbed a woman’s jaw, hurting her two separate times. 

He also broke the woman’s car window by pounding on it.

Vulliet kicked and punched holes in the wall of the home and the air conditioning vent, and knocked over two glasses on the floor, breaking them. 

The damage was estimated at $1,000. 

Vulliet is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, battery, simple battery, pedestrian under the influence, and misdemeanor obstruction of officers. 

Man charged with child cruelty

A Rome man was arrested Saturday at his Texas Valley Road home on charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children and battery. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

18-year-old Noah Ronald Burns grabbed a 14-year-old and threw her to the ground, causing a black eye, along with bleeding and swelling to the right side of her head. 

Woman charged with elder intimidation

A Rome woman was arrested over the weekend at her Nan Lee Drive home on a felony count of exploitation or intimidation of an elder person. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

50-year-old Kimberly Joyce Perry got in a 78-year-old woman’s face, screaming and cursing at her. 

When police arrived at the home, the victim was visibly shaken. 

Perry is also being held on a probation violation. 

Report: Woman used an elderly victim’s credit card

A 43-year-old North Rome woman is accused of using the credit card information of a 75-year-old woman to make unauthorized purchases. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

Krystle Ann Henry used the identifying information from the victim’s MasterCard and checking account. 

She purchased goods and services from Rent-A-Center, Little Caesars, the Rome Water Department, Circle C Auto Sales, and IHOP. 

The transactions occurred between August 6 and August 18. 

Henry is charged with financial exploitation of the elderly, identity fraud, and seven counts of financial transaction card fraud. 

Man charged with fleeing or attempting to elude 

A 20-year-old Villa Rica man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude and speeding. 

According to jail records: 

A vehicle driven by Victor Lorenzo was clocked going 96 in a 60-mile-per-hour zone in the area of Highway 27 South and Miller Mountain Road. 

Lorenzo then failed to stop for police, traveling an additional six miles in about three minutes before stopping. 

Man accused of taking vehicle from East Rome Walmart

A West Rome man has been arrested in the theft of a motor vehicle back on August 16.

According to an arrest warrant: 

51-year-old Stephen Terry Cordle took the vehicle belonging to an Ellijay woman from the parking lot of the East Rome Walmart.

The vehicle is valued at $5,000.

Cordle is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle and a probation violation. 

Man arrested on drug charges

A Garden Lakes man is facing drug charges following his arrest at his Elliott Drive home on Friday. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

43-year-old Andrew Steven Silvey had a THC vape pen and clear plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana. 

He is charged with possession of meth, two counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation. 

Report: Summerville man charged with possession of meth found with marijuana at jail

A Summerville man was arrested on drug charges on Highway 27 North at Highway 156 on Friday. 

According to Floyd County Jail records:

61-year-old Gregory Williamson had a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. 

Once at the jail, he was found with a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana, which was hidden in his sock.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
