A West Rome man was jailed on Wednesday on multiple charges, including a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude:
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year-old Julio Alexander Ramos Quiroa drove at a high rate of speed through a residential neighborhood at night and without headlights on.
He then evaded police, reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour, before leaving the roadway.
Quiroa then fled on foot, leaving the scene of the accident.
Two open containers of alcohol were found in his vehicle.
Quiroa is additionally charged with hit-and-run, reckless driving, open container, failure to maintain a lane, underage possession of alcohol, a headlight violation, and driving in violation of license class.
