-Georgia Secretary of State-

Republican Incumbent Tim Echols was the winner in a special primary for Georgia Public Service Commission on Tuesday while the Democratic primary is headed for a runoff.
Echols defeated Lee Muns and will now face Democrat Alicia Johnson for the District Two seat in November.
Meanwhile, Keisha Sean Waites and Peter Hubbard were the top vote getters in the District 3 Democratic Primary, but neither received the 50% plus one needed to avoid a runoff.
The runoff will be held on July 15.
The winner will face Republican Incumbent Fritz Johnson in November.
Voter turnout statewide was only 2.7 percent.
In Floyd County, 1,253 of 63,667 active voters cast ballots on Election Day and during three weeks of advance voting for a turnout of 2 percent.
That was actually the highest percentage in our immediate area.
Turnout was 1.8 percent in Polk County, 1.1 percent in both Chattooga and Bartow Counties, and 1 percent in Gordon County.
