Report: Man wrote sexual letter to juvenile
An Armuchee man was arrested Sunday at his Herring Road residence on a felony count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
60-year-old Weyman Darrell Garmany Jr. wrote a letter to a juvenile female, offering her $50 if she let him commit an indecent act on her.
Garmany is also being held without bond for a probation violation.
Man charged with fleeing, obstruction, hit and run
A Garden Lakes man was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly backed into a gas pump at a store on Gadsden Road in Cave Spring and then left the scene.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Colby Lynn Bevels was located at Rolater Park, and while police were speaking to him, he ran into the woods.
He was apprehended about two hours later and resisted police, shoving one of the officers.
Bevels is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, felony and misdemeanor obstruction, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, failure to report an accident with property damage, and a probation violation.
Man accused of pointing firearm at woman while intoxicated
A Silver Creek man was arrested Saturday at his Pleasant Hope Road home on a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
64-year-old Richard Lamar Easterwood carried around a firearm while intoxicated and then pointed the weapon at a woman in the home. Easterwood is also charged with reckless conduct.
Two charged with burglary in Silver Creek
Two men were arrested on Daryl Road in Silver Creek over the weekend on charges of 2nd-degree burglary.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
50-year-old Michael Wayne Haskins Sr. of Rockmart and 31-year-old Drake Ladon Keef of Aragon entered an unoccupied building by force and then ran when police arrived, refusing to obey commands to stop.
Both are also charged with misdemeanor obstruction and probation violations.
Keef was additionally charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance after being found with suspected methamphetamine.
