Woman accused of assaulting, threatening parents
A West Rome woman was arrested on Monday at her John Davenport Drive residence on charges of aggravated assault and 1st-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Simone Janae Jackson took a shovel and threatened her parents with it, after yelling and screaming profanities at them.
She then attempted to hit her father in the head with the shovel.
The incident was witnessed by children in the home.
One of the children reported seeing Jackson commit previous acts of violence against the two victims.
Once at the jail, Jackson threatened to kill her parents.
She is additionally charged with terroristic threats and acts, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and a probation violation.
Man charged with two counts of aggravated assault
A Lindale man is accused of assaulting two people at his Old Cedartown Road home on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
62-year-old Charles E. France grabbed two different people by the throats, restricting their airflow and putting them in fear for their safety.
He also would not allow one of the victims to leave the room, by grabbing her by the arms and pulling her back in, breaking the door.
The incidents were witnessed by a child in the home.
France is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, simple battery, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Inmate facing charges
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing charges of battery and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.
According to jail records:
33-year-old Nicholas Adam Brown of Kennesaw pushed another inmate and then pulled him into a door.
The victim’s head struck the door, causing a laceration above the left eye.
