Man charged in alleged molestation dating back to 2023
A homeless man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Sunday on charges of child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
According to the arrest warrants:
40-year-old Dawain Lee Guillen molested a female under the age of 16 between the dates of October 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
Man charged with child molestation
A West Rome man was jailed over the weekend on a felony warrant charging him with child molestation.
According to the warrant:
18-year-old Damian Cain Garrett committed an immoral or indecent act with a child who was 12-years-old at the time.
The incident occurred between December 21 and December 23 of last year.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A Rome man has been arrested in an alleged assault at his Seven Hills Place residence on Sunday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year-old Antquavious Demetrius Neal placed his hands around a woman’s neck, strangling her, before pushing her onto the bed.
The victim sustained red marks around her neck.
Neal, who admitted to the offense, is charged with aggravated assault.
Man accused of inappropriately touching a minor
A Coosa-area man was arrested at his Woods Road home over the weekend on charges of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Christopher David Ridings touched the thighs and buttocks of a female, who is a minor.
Man arrested after altercation over a car
A Garden Lakes man was arrested on Sunday at his Wentworth Place residence on charges of simple battery and exploitation or intimidation of the elderly or disabled adult.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
51-year-old Mark McGill Espy screamed in a 74-year-old woman’s face because she would not let him use her car.
He also struck the woman on top of the head.
Woman charged with terroristic threats and acts
A 29-year-old woman is accused of threatening a Rome woman back on March 5.
According to a warrant on file at the Floyd County Jail:
Asia Zhane Williams threatened to beat the woman, and then burn down the apartment that the victim lives in.
Williams is charged with terroristic threats and acts.
Man charged with meth possession
A Rome man was arrested on drug charges at his home on Callier Springs Road over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Matthew Ryan Locklear was found with suspected methamphetamine and gabapentin.
Locklear is charged with possession of meth and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
